Jane Garza

Jane Garza, 91, of Lubbock, passed away on Wednesday, April 17, 2024          

Viewing will be 1:00 pm- 6:00 pm Thursday April 18, 2024, followed by a visitation at 6:00 pm at Englunds.  Funeral services will be at 2:00 pm Friday, April 19, 2024, at Englunds Chapel in Slaton. Interment will follow at Englewood Cemetery in Slaton. Arrangements are by Englunds Funeral Service of Slaton.

Jane was born May 5, 1932, in Navasota, Texas to Amador and Macaria Davila, although a few years ago, it was discovered that records mistakenly showed she was born on the 15th. She moved to Slaton as a child and lived in Slaton until about 10 years ago. Jane married Frank Chapa in Slaton. She was a homemaker and made the best tamales. Jane enjoyed crocheting and cooking and was always on the move.

She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband; and two sons, Frank, and Johnny Chapa.

Jane is survived by her daughter, Mary Jane Mahaffey and her husband, David of Lubbock; her sister, Angel Diaz and her husband, Joe of Slaton; and several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren.
