Albert Alafa, 61, of Lubbock, passed away December 3, 2019.
Funeral services will be 11:00 Friday, December 6, 2019 at Englunds Chapel in Slaton. Interment will follow in Englewood Cemetery. Arrangements were under the direction Englunds Funeral Service of Slaton.
Albert was born January 18, 1958 in Sinton to Jesus and Emelia Alafa. He moved with his family from Lamesa to Slaton in 1968 and attended Slaton High School. He later moved to Port Aransas and worked as a cook. Albert returned to Lubbock in 1982 working in the entertainment business of wrestling. He was known as “Chief Running Deer” in the wrestling circuit and enjoyed the travel it required for 25 years. In 2004 he settled in Lubbock and worked as a cook for Copper Caboose and Hooters, later retiring from Golden Chicken.
He is preceded in death by his parents.
Albert is survived by his sisters Debbie Alafa and Rosa Sierra of Lubbock; and his brothers Jessie of Lubbock, Danny of Alamo, Tennessee, Rene of Edna and John of Lubbock.
