Dee Wayne Crabtree

Dee Wayne Crabtree, 59 of Lubbock, Texas went to be with his Lord on Tuesday, April 18, 2017. Dee was born, Saturday, March 1, 1958 in Lubbock, Texas. He married Cheryl Hudson on Friday, February 19, 1982 and accomplished 35 years of marriage. He was a graduate of Denver City ISD, received an Associates Degree from West Coast Bible College and was employed by Xcel Energy for 36 years as a Chemical Technician. He attended the Church of God. Spent his time off at the gym working out and attending spin class. Dee was a big fan of Frenship Football and Baseball, he continued going to the games after his sons had graduated. Dee was a big supporter of Texas Tech Football and would travel following the team. Dee financially supported the United Way and the Salvation Army always giving to the churches and charities that are close to his heart. He was a Scout Leader of the Slaton Boy Scouts for several years. Surviving are his wife, Cheryl Hudson Crabtree of Lubbock, TX, two sons; Brian Michael and wife Melissa Crabtree of Longview, TX, three beautiful granddaughters, Mackenzie, Maranda, & Bristol and Jeffrey Keith and wife Vanessa Crabtree of Arlington, TX with one grandpup, Barnabas. Two Brothers; Thomas and Margaret Crabtree of Midland, TX, Ray and Bonnie Crabtree of Taylor, SC. Two sisters; Eva Crabtree Thomason of Farmington NM, Sheila and Harvey Lehnert, Fort Stockton, TX and many neices and nephews. Dee was Preceded in death by his Father; Eddie Crabtree, Mother; Edna Crabtree and a baby sister; Janet Lynn Crabtree. Dee was a very quiet and private man who was loved by everyone in his inner circle, the spin class, the Pancake House friends, neighbors, and family. The family will be available for visitation at 6:00 PM Friday, April 21, 2017 at Englunds Funeral Chapel, 1400 Woodrow Rd, Slaton, TX. Services will be 2:00 PM Saturday, April 22, 2017 at the First Baptist Church in Slaton, TX. Interment will be in the Englewood Cemetery, Slaton, TX.
