Fancy H. Koonsman

Fancy H. Koonsman, 79, of Idalou passed away on April 30th, 2019. Graveside services will be Friday, May 3rd, 2019 at 11 AM, in the Olton Cemetery, Olton Texas. There will be a viewing, Thursday from 1 to 6 PM. Services are under the direction of Englunds Funeral Service of Slaton. Fancy was born on March 25, 1940 in Littlefield, TX, to Elvis Louis, and Winnie Oleta ( Findley) Hatley. She graduated from Littlefield High School and attended Draughn's Business College. She started her working career with Pacific Financial and later GMAC. On November 19, 1984 she was employed by the Texas Department of Transportation for 17 years and 4 months, retiring on April 30, 2002. She was the past Local and State President of the Texas Public Employee Association. Fancy enjoyed painting, ceramics, and handcrafts. The joy of her life were her beloved grandsons, Jim and Kash Koonsman. Fancy attended the Idalou Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother Butch Hatley. Fancy is survived by her son, Kane Koonsman of Lorenzo and her two grandsons. The family would like to thank the staff at Library of Legacies, along with Keith and Michelle Craig for their care and compassion, as well as a number of" Special Friends" through out the years. The family suggests memorials may be made to your favorite charity.
