Frank Vargas Martinez, 69, of Lubbock, passed away Sunday, September 8, 2019.
Visitation will be 6-7:00 PM Tuesday, September 10, 2019 at Englunds. Funeral Services will be 10:00 am Wednesday, September 11, 2019 at Englunds Chapel. Burial will follow in Englewood Cemetery. Arrangements are by Englunds Funeral Service of Slaton.
Frank was born October 6, 1949 in Bremond to Juan and Adela Martinez. He was one of twenty one children. He farmed in Happy Union until he was a teenager, later moving to Lazbuddie when he was 20. He moved to Lubbock in 1975 and continued to farm until he went to work as a core maker.
Frank was a very caring and generous man. He always looked for the best in others and modeled genuine love for them. He was best known for saying that, “he may not have much but he had plenty of love to give.” He enjoyed spending time watching baseball and the Dallas Cowboys play but most importantly he loved spending time with his family.
He was preceded in death by his parents; four brothers and three sisters.
Frank is survived by his daughter Erica Martinez Garcia [Leo] of Lubbock; his sons, John Gabriel Martinez, Frank James Martinez and Jeffrey Martinez, all of Lubbock; his sisters, Angelita Vasquez, Abelina Vasquez, Marcia Leos, Adela Arguelles, Virginia Martinez, Lupe Madrigal [Lee], Marcia Martinez, and Felicita Rojas [Alfred]; his brothers, Pete Martinez and Selestino [Gerrilynn] Martinez; his grandchildren, Pheenix Carrillo, Sapphire Faith Martinez, Gabrielle Soledad, James Xavier Martinez, Raven Magdalena Martinez, John Gabiel Martinez, Jr, Hayden Kade Martinez, Cyrus Martinez, and Aracelie Garcia; his great grandchildren, Emilia Martinez, Seliah Carrillo, Chance Xavier Sanchez and Nolan Ryan Carrillo; and his best friend, Linda Salazar of Lubbock.
