Jimmy Schoonover, 57, of Lubbock, passed away Tuesday, July 23, 2019 at his home surrounded by loved ones.
Memorial services will be 2:00 pm Friday July 26, 2019 at Bible Baptist Church in Slaton. Arrangements are by Englunds Funeral Service of Slaton.
Jimmy was born June 12, 1962 in Slaton to Ralph and Minnie Mae Schoonover. He attended school in Slaton and Plainview. He married Canzada Evrage in Lubbock in November of 1983. Jimmy worked as a welder and in construction and was also a truck driver. He enjoyed fishing, camping and especially music. But what he loved most was spending time with his grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; three sisters, Clara Dutton, Tommi Sue Cates, and Jo Culwell; and one brother, Ralph Schoonover.
Jimmy is survived by his wife, Canzada of Lubbock; three sons, Jerry Neighbors of Osaka, Japan, Justin Schoonover of Goddard, KS, and Cody Schoonover and wife, Ashley of Lubbock; two sisters, Treasure Chance and husband, Royce of Slaton, and Margaret Wilson and husband, Eddie of Lubbock; three brothers, Isaac Schoonover and wife, Teresa of Post, Benny Schoonover and wife, Shanna of Slaton, and Ricky Schoonover of Lubbock; and two granddaughters, Jessy, and Codie Schoonover.
