Alan Wayne Martin, 80, of Slaton, passed away on Saturday, May 23, 2026.

Alan was born on January 4, 1946, in Slaton  to Buford and Faye Martin. Alan graduated from Slaton High School. After graduation he worked in the printing business for about thirteen years. He then went to work for BNSF and retired as a conductor after 30 years of service. Alan was a past Master of the Slaton Masonic Lodge. He was a master of all trades, specializing in carpentry and mechanics and loved Texas Tech Red Raider Football. Alan loved his family and did whatever he could to support them. Alan proudly worked the AA Program and recently received his 17 year sobriety chip.

He is preceded in death by his parents; his sister, Janet Martin; and his brother Owen Martin.

Alan is survived by his daughter, Desiree Jones of Slaton, his sons, Alan “Skipper” Martin (Shelley) of Snyder and Steven Martin of Slaton; his sister Angela Edwards (Jackie) of McKinney; his brothers, Tony Martin (Jennie) of Mineola, Leland Martin (Susan) of Denton, and Jeffrey Martin-Moreno (Jay) of Schertz; six grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
