Alex attended Slaton schools and graduated high school in 1994. Alex enjoyed listening to music while enjoying a cold one. He loved spending time with family, cooking out and just being in the moment. He loved teaching his babies how to dance and as he would say “get down”.
Alex was a diehard Dallas Cowboys and Texas Tech fan. Alex was always dressed to the nines, pants creased, with his tapito and bandana.
Alex was a devoted father, son, brother, uncle, cousin and G-pa. He loved being with his grandbabies.
Olga, his mother, said “I’m going to miss my gordo and his morning phone calls.”
Alexis, his daughter, said “He was energetic being and always willing to make anybody and everybody laugh. His laugh was very contagious and as well as himself being a complete goofball. Everyone always enjoyed being in his company. He was known for bumping his oldies but goodies.”
Jazlyn, his daughter, said “Our dad was a loving presence whose strength, kindness, and quiet support shaped the lives of everyone who knew him. He thought he was failing us, he really taught us on how to love and cherish one another, especially our siblings. His laughter, guidance, and love will be deeply missed, but his memory will live on in our hearts and in the lessons he shared with us, I’m going to miss him sending me pictures of random animals saying, “I’ll bring it home if you want it, don’t got to tell me twice my lovely.”
Alex is proceeded in death by this father, Domingo T. Rubio, his grandparents, Ezekiel “Chepo” and Nancy’s Martinez and Domingo V. Rubio Sr. and Juanita T. Rubio.
He is survived by his mother Olga Rubio, his brother Christopher Rubio; five children, Alexis Sierra and her husband Joe Sierra, Donovan Rubio (Annastie), Jazlyn Rubio, Apryl Abraham, Elijah Abraham ; four grandchildren Adelaïna, Evelina, Aurelio and baby Messiah and the mother of his youngest children, Ester Valdez.
