Alton Kenney

Alton Kenney, 88, of Slaton, passed away Thursday, June 11, 2020.

Private Funeral Services will be Saturday June 13th at First Baptist Church in Slaton. Due to social distancing and limited seating on every other pew, the services are primarily for family and close friends. It has been requested that attendees wear a mask. Arrangements are under the direction of Englunds Funeral Service of Slaton. 

Alton was born March 13, 1932 in Slaton to Othor Daniel and Martha Elizabeth Nowell. He graduated from Slaton High School and attended Texas Tech University for two years. Alton proudly served in the United States Marine Corps during the Korean War.  He married Pat Hickman in Slaton on November 25, 1953. He worked at O. D.  Kenney Auto Parts until his retirement in 2014. He was active in Dance Clubs and Bridge Clubs.

Alton is preceded in death by his parents; his sister, Pauline Parise; and his, brother Wayne Kenney. 

Alton is survived by his wife; his daughter, Cindy Corrigan of Buffalo Springs Lake; his sons, Dr. Dan Kenney (Andrea) of Euless, Kelton Kenney of Jupiter, Florida; his sister, Peggy Nation (Bob) of Lubbock; his sister-in-law, Annie Kenney of Slaton; his grandchildren, Seth Corrigan (Erin), Danielle Mingus (Jacob), Ryan Kenney, and Braden Kenney; and his great grandchildren, Sarah Randolph, James Corrigan, Samuel Mingus, Daniel Mingus and Luke Mingus.
