Aniceto “Andy” Maldonado, 66, of Lubbock passed away Monday, December 21, 2020.
Viewing will be 10:00 am – 4:00 pm Thursday, December 24, 2020 at Englunds Chapel in Slaton, intended mainly for the family with limited space available. Graveside services will be at 2:00 pm Saturday, December 26, 2020 at Englewood Cemetery in Slaton. Social Distancing and mask are required. Arrangements are under the direction of Englunds Funeral Service.
Andy was born April 17, 1954 in Harlingen to Francisco and Maria Maldonado. As a child his family moved to Slaton where he attended school. As a young adult he began farming, which he did for the remainder of his life. Andy also worked for Farmers Coop Gin in Lubbock. He loved to sing and play the accordion.
He is preceded in death by his parents; his sons, Chris Segovia and Vincent Segovia; his brothers, Phillip Maldonado, Johnny Maldonado, Florencio Maldonado, Rosendo Maldonado and Yseidro Maldonado and his sisters, Janie Rodriguez and Jovita Bustillos.
Andy is survived by his sons, Frankie Maldonado of Lubbock, Luis Segovia and his wife Isabel of Pflugerville, Gilbert Segovia and Simona Sanchez of Lubbock and David Segovia of Lubbock; his daughters, Brenda Segovia of Lubbock, Aurora Maldonado and Billy Eckman of Round Rock and Marie Rios and her husband Robert of Lubbock; his sisters Snow Casteneda of Lubbock, Oralia Cervantes and her husband Tomas of Slaton, Clemetina Castillo and her husband Julian of Texas City and Gloria Rivera of Texas City; his brothers Augustine Maldonado of Texas City and Estevan Maldonado of Texas City and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
