Arturo Zertuche

Arturo Zertuche, 82, of Slaton, passed away Saturday, June 25, 2022. 

Viewing will be 11:00 am to 6:00pm Thursday June 30, 2022 at Englunds. Rosary will be said 6:00 pm at Englunds Chapel. Funeral Mass will be celebrated 10:30 am Friday, July 1, 2022 at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Slaton.  Arrangements are by Englunds Funeral Service of Slaton.

Arturo was born November 1, 1939 in San Matias, Coahuila, Mexico to Manuel and Sofia Zertuche. He married Blasa Villarreal in San Antonio and they celebrated 61 years of marriage.  He was a member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church.  Arturo loved telling jokes and fishing.  He also raised prize roosters and loved spending time with family and friends and playing poker.

He is preceded in death by his parents; his sisters, Delia Perez and Esperanza Rocha; and his brothers, Pedro and Mariano Zertuche.

Arturo is survived by his wife; Blasa; his daughters, Sandra Nunez of Slaton, Sofia Z. Carreon and her husband, Santos of Corpus Christi, Sonia Zertuche of Bethel, CT., and Zelma Zertuche of Slaton; his brother, Jose Armando Zertuche and his wife, Olga of San Antonio; three special Godsons, Adam Rodriguez, Johnny Rodriguez, and Eleazar Acosta, as well as many other special godchildren, nieces, and nephews; 11 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.

The family suggest memorials be made to Lubbock Meals on Wheels.
