Audrey Bishop

Audrey Bishop, 97, of Tahoka, passed away Sunday, November 8, 2020.

Funeral Services will be at 2:00 PM Wednesday, November, 11 2020 at First Baptist Church in Slaton.  Burial will follow at Englewood Cemetery in Slaton.  Arrangements are under the direction of Englunds Funeral Service. Masks are required at the church and the funeral home. Services will be live streamed on Englunds Funeral Service Facebook page.

Audrey was born on February 6, 1923 in Post to Elmer and Bessie Howard.  She attended schools in Post, Hackberry and Southland.  She married Jack Cleo Bishop on June 9, 1940 in Post while living in Levelland.  They moved to Slaton in 1976 where they were members at First Baptist Church. Audrey always lived life to the fullest and loved her family. She was a woman who stuck to her old- fashioned ways and she loved the Lord. She was simple and didn’t need the finer things in life. She needed her family and her garden to be happy. She picked cotton with a sack and raised her boys right, a true testament to her toughness.

She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband; and her son, Jackie Bishop. 

Audrey is survived by her sons, Tony Bishop and wife, D’Anne of Wilson, Darrell Bishop and his wife, Cathy of Keller, and Curtis Bishop and his wife, Sharon of Placenta, CA; her daughter-in-law, Betty Bishop of Wilson; her brother Gerald Howard of Abilene; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. 

In lieu of flowers, the family suggest memorials be made to First Baptist Church in Slaton.
