Benito “Benny” Garcia, 72, of Slaton, passed away Friday, February 11, 2022.

Viewing will be 11:00 am – 5:00 pm Monday, February 14, 2022 at the Englunds.  Rosary will be said 6:00 pm Monday, February 14, 2022 at the Englunds. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 am Tuesday February 15, 2022 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Slaton. Interment will follow at Englewood Cemetery in Slaton following a procession to Ransom Canyon and back. Arrangements are by Englunds Funeral Service of Slaton.

Benny was born August 5, 1949 in Stanton to Pedro and Felipa Garcia. He married Neri in 1970 and they celebrated 54 years of marriage in December.  Together they raised Christian Garcia from the time he was two weeks old. He worked for 54 years for the city of Ransom Canyon. He enjoyed his side business of mowing lawns.  But most importantly he enjoyed spending time with his family and loved his grandchildren dearly.  You will be missed Viejito.

He is preceded in death by his parents; and brothers, Trinidad, Rudy, and Richard Garcia.

Benny is survived by his wife, Neri; his daughters, Gracie Garcia, Monica Garcia and her husband, Josh Rodriguez and Christina Garcia, all of Lubbock; his son Anthony Garcia of Lubbock; his sisters, Estefana Perez of Lubbock and Lupe Cervantes and husband, Ramon of Lubbock; his brother, Filbert Garcia and his wife, Eliselda of Lubbock; sixteen grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
