Billie Rutherford

Billie Jewel Rutherford passed away peacefully June 11, 2021.  She was born January 15, 1928 to Harry Edwin Clifton and Elca Beatrice Hindman in Hale Center, Texas.  She was a registered nurse working at Methodist Hospital, Milan’s Children’s Center and various nursing homes for many years.  She volunteered for children’s clinics sponsored by Second Baptist Church and later food committees at Oakwood Baptist Church until the last few years.  She grew up on a farm and maintained her love of farming all her life; she was an avid gardener.  Her love of travel and adventure took her to almost all the continents over a 20 year span.  She is predeceased by her parents, her stepdad Olan Lee, her husband Clovis Dell Rutherford, her brother Don Clifton and sister Bobbie Knox, son Cliff Rutherford and son-in-law Tom Hutchinson.  She is survived by her sister Jean Johnson of Clifton, daughter Becky Ellison, (husband Dyke) of Lubbock, daughter DiAnn Hutchinson, Sedona, Arizona and son Coke Rutherford, (wife Melissa) Houston, Texas.   She had 6 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.  Services will be held at the chapel at Peaceful Gardens Memorial Park, Woodrow, Texas on Wednesday June 16th at 10 am.
