Billy Blair Jones

Billy Blair Jones, 90, of Lubbock, passed away on September 30, 2023.

A private celebration of life service will be held at a later date. Arrangements are by Englunds Funeral Service of Slaton.

Billy was born April 7, 1933, in Petersburg, TX. to Troy and Mary Zelda Jones. He grew up and attended school in Lorenzo and moved to the Lubbock area at a young age. He married Karen Peterson in 1987. Billy retired as diesel mechanic from Steere Tank Lines and devoted his time to woodworking and growing his pecan grove. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Ropesville. Billy was full of life and fun to be around and he never met a stranger.

He is preceded in death by her parents; his wife, Emmie Jones; his brother, Rhea Jones; and his sister, Bobbie Jones.

He is survived by his daughters, Cheryl Jones and her husband, Kenneth Kahlich of Lubbock, and Kelly Jones of Lubbock; his sons, Steve Jones of Wolfforth, and Michael Jones of Slaton; six grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
