Brannon G. Busby

Brannon Busby, 92, of Slaton, went to be with The Lord November 27, 2019.

Funeral Services will be 2:00 PM Saturday, November 30, 2019 at First Baptist Church in Slaton.  Interment will follow in Englewood Cemetery in Slaton.  Arrangements are under the direction of Englunds Funeral Service of Slaton.

Brannon was born July 23, 1927 in Fisher County to Redden and Erma Busby. He proudly served in the U.S. Navy.  After leaving the service, he went to work for Santa Fe Railways and retired after 40 years. He married Kathy Bell on April 2, 1950 in Plainview and they had three children, Debbie, Mike and Jeff.  They lived in Plainview until moving to Slaton in 1957.  Brannon was a member of the U. T. Union, the Slaton Little League Association, and First Baptist Church.  He loved to hunt and fish with his sons and grandsons. Kathy and Brannon enjoyed lots of fun times square dancing. He also won numerous awards with various bowling leagues and enjoyed going on cruises with family and friends.

He is preceded in death by his parents; three sisters; and his grandsons, Jay Brannon Oats and Austin Herman Busby.

Brannon is survived by his wife, Kathy of Slaton; his sons, Mike Busby, and Jeff and his wife, Andrea; his daughter, Debbie Oats and her husband, Commie; his sister, Wilda Jones; six grandchildren, Cassie Lewis, Elyse Busby, Garrett Busby, Helene Busby, Shasta Mills and Brandon Busby; and ten great-grandchildren.
