Carmel Garcia Obituary

Carmel Garcia, 57, of Slaton, passed away Friday, December 4, 2020. 

Viewing will be 1-8 Tuesday, December 8, at the funeral home.

Funeral Services will be at 10:00 am Wednesday, December 9, 2020 at First Baptist Church in Slaton.  Arrangements are under the direction of Englunds Funeral Service. Social distancing and masks are required. Services will be live streamed on Englunds Funeral Service Facebook page. 

Carmel was born on July 16, 1963 in Slaton to Albert and Camila Jaramillo. She married Lupe Garcia on October 11, 1986 in Lubbock and celebrated 34 years of marriage.  She worked as office manager for Hard Tops of Lubbock.  Carmel was a woman of faith and she touched so many lives.  Her smile was contagious and had a meek and gentle spirit.

She is preceded in death by her parents; her brothers, Albert Jaramillo, Jr. and Tony Jaramillo; and her grandson, Matthew Garcia. 

Carmel is survived by her husband; her daughter, Damaris Brown and her husband, Reginald of Atlanta; her sons, Elijah Garcia and wife, Cecilia of Slaton, Lucas Garcia and wife, Sierrah of Maypearl, and Ezekiel Garcia and wife, Karlee of Midlothian; her sisters, Christina Sotelo of Lubbock, Janie Martinez and husband, Carlos of Smyer, Maria Bentancourt and husband, Jimmy of Slaton, Yolanda Jimenez and husband, Joe of Lubbock, Esperanza Gutierrez and her husband, Javier of Lubbock, and Josefina Cardona of Lubbock; her brothers, Jesse Jaramillo of Slaton, Joe Jaramillo and his wife, Anita of Slaton, Dennis Jaramillo and his wife, Irma of Slaton, and Tony Adames and his wife, Martha of Bryan; and nine grandchildren.
