Charley Henzler, 72, of Slaton, passed away February 4, 2020.
Rosary will be said at 6:00 PM Friday, February 7, 2020 at Englunds Chapel. Funeral Services will be at 2:00 PM Saturday, February 8, 2020, at Englunds Chapel. Interment will follow at Resthaven Cemetery in Southland. Arrangements are under the direction of Englunds Funeral Service of Slaton.
Charley was born May 22, 1947 in Slaton to Raymond and Rose Henzler. He attended St. Joseph School and graduated from Slaton High School in 1965. Charley married Linda Sue Johnson in Slaton on September 6, 1964. Working alongside his cousin, Leo Henzler Jr., they ran Henzler Automotive for many years. He helped organize and run the West Texas Opry for many years. He was Volunteer of the Year and Man of the Year on two separate occasions. The community of Slaton always knew they could come to Charley for help.
He is preceded in death by his parents; sister, Molly Kubacak; cousin, Leo Henzler Jr., who he thought of as his brother; and granddaughter, Jennifer Jo Johnston.
Charley is survived by his wife, Linda; his daughter, Kelly Jo Johnston and husband, Kevin; his son, Shannon Henzler and wife, Julane; grandchildren ,Ethan Johnston and wife, Amber, Danielle Talkmitt and husband, Heath, Kandyce Parsons and husband Hardy, and Corbin Henzler and fiancée, Chelsi Vineyard; step- grandchildren, John Justusson and wife, Michaela, Janine Justusson; great grandchildren, August and Asher Talkmitt, Racie Johnston, and Finch and Sunni Parsons.
