Charlie Becker, 91, of Slaton, passed away February 12, 2020.
Visitation will be at 4:00-5:30 pm Sunday, February 16, 2020 at Englunds. Funeral services will be at 10:30 am Monday, February 17, 2020 at Englunds Chapel in Slaton. Interment will follow in Resthaven Cemetery in Southland. Arrangements are under the direction of Englunds Funeral Service of Slaton.
Charlie was born November 19, 1928 in Southland to August and Adele Becker. He attended school in Southland and served in the United States Navy during the Korean conflict. Charlie and his brother, Richard, owned and operated Becker Brothers Service Station in Slaton for forty years. He was a member of Grace Lutheran Church and Slaton VFW. His lifelong passions were hunting and fishing. Charlie raised and trained German Shorthaired Pointers and Vizsla hunting dogs for many years and had an article published in Texas Parks and Wildlife magazine about him and Vizslas breed of dogs.
He is preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Angeline Becker, Helen Horne, Dorothy Mueller, Margery Dillard Martin; and brothers J.W. Becker, Bill Becker and Richard Becker.
Charlie is survived by his brother, A.J. Becker of Athens; nephews, Ricky Becker, Larry Becker, Kel Becker, Rob Becker, Sam Becker, Roger Becker, Gary Dillard, and Alan Mueller; and nieces, Lisa Harder, Angela Polk, Linda Wisdom, Karla Odom, Luanne Watson, and Debbie Becker.
