Christobal “Chris” Escobar, 58, of Slaton, passed away on January 9, 2024.

A Rosary Service will be at 6:00 pm Wednesday, January 17, 2024, at Englunds Chapel. Funeral Mass will be at 10:30 am Thursday, January 18, 2024, at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Slaton.  Interment will follow at Englewood Cemetery in Slaton. Arrangements are by Englunds Funeral Service of Slaton.

Chris was born on May 22, 1965, in Slaton to Julio and Maria Escobar. Chris worked in maintenance before going to work as a cement worker, prior to becoming disabled. He enjoyed music and spending time with his friends.  He was a big Dallas Cowboy fan.

He is preceded in death by his father, and his brother, Alex A. Escobar.

Chris is survived by his sons, Adrian Hernandez and his wife, Kelsie, and Nicholas Hernandez, all of Lubbock; his mother, Maria Escobar of Slaton; his sister, Ofelia Hinojosa of Lubbock; and his brothers, Hilberto of Slaton, Rudy Escobar and his wife, Yvonne of Lubbock, Ruben Escobar and his wife Toni of Lubbock, and Steve Escobar and his wife, Lupe of Slaton.
