Dana Smallwood Obituary

Dana R. Smallwood “MaMa Dana”, 90, of Slaton, passed away Sunday, January 16, 2022.


Funeral Services will be at 2:30 pm, Wednesday January 19, 2022 at Englunds Chapel in Slaton.  Interment will follow at Englewood Cemetery in Slaton. Arrangements are by Englunds Funeral Service of Slaton.


Dana was born November 29, 1931 in Van Zandt County, TX to the late Fagan and Rubye Davis Ross. Dana married Arthur “Big” Smallwood on September 3, 1950 in Clovis, NM. They lived in the Southland community until moving to Slaton in 1971. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Slaton and is also a member of the Order of the Eastern Star. She was an Avon representative for 44 years and 11 months.


She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband; her son and daughter-in-law, Douglas and Sue Smallwood; her brother, Joe Ross and her sister, Sue Hancock.  


Dana is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Ronnie and Cristi Smallwood of Waller; her brother Jerry Don Ross of Wilson and her grandchildren, Brian and Heather Smallwood, Keller, Rhonda and Adam Soileau of Waller, Stephanie Smallwood of Flower Mound, David Smallwood of Denver Co; and four great grandchildren, Colton, Milo, Haley and Riley.
