Daniel Bernal

Daniel Bernal, 73, of Slaton, passed away on Sunday, November 12, 2023.

Visitation will be 6-7:00 pm Wednesday, November 15, 2023, at Englunds, including a short service. Funeral Services will be 10:30 am Thursday, November 16, 2023, at Mighty Oak Assembly of God in Slaton. Interment will follow in Resthaven Cemetery in Southland.  There will be a private family viewing only. Arrangements are by Englunds Funeral Service of Slaton.

Daniel was born August 18, 1950, in San Vicente, Mexico to David and Maria Bernal. He grew up in Midland and Brownwood. Daniel married Mary Pequeno on July 25, 1968, and they moved to Slaton. He worked as an auto body repairman for Bownds Body Shop for 27 years, eventually becoming self-employed continuing in the same field. He loved spending time with his family.

He is preceded in death by his parents; his wife; his brothers, Jesus and Mario Bernal and his sister, Petra Bernal.

Daniel  is survived by his stepmother Maria Bernal of Fort Stockton; his daughters, Mary Torres and her husband, Johnny of Hereford and Sylvia Bernal  of Austin;  his sons, Daniel Bernal and his wife Gloria of Lubbock, Antonio Bernal of Austin, Domingo Bernal  and his wife, Cindy of Slaton, Paulino Bernal and his wife, Annmarie of Slaton, Sylvester Bernal and his wife, Cassandra of Slaton; his sisters, Rosa of Midland, Irma Linda of Arlington, Matilda of Gardendale and Lola of Fort Stockton; his brothers, David Bernal of Fort Stockton, Macario Bernal of Gardendale, David Bernal of Fort Stockton, Rock Bernal of Laredo, and Rodolfo Garcia and his wife, Maria of Ft. Stockton; 24 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
