David Taylor Obituary

David Taylor, 61, of Wilson, passed away Sunday, October 2, 2022.



A family led Memorial Service will be at 1:00 pm Saturday, October 8, 2022 at Lone Star Cowboy Church, 1309 E. FM 1585, Lubbock. There will be no viewing or visitation.


David was born on September 4, 1961 in Floydada to Frankie and Joyce Taylor. He married Brigette Sooter on October 4, 1987 in Dimmitt. David started playing guitar and piano with his family at the age of 15, which led him to play in several bands over the years including Who’s Driving, Texas Praise, and Southern Wind, among others, and ending with Me and the Boys.  He loved dogs and horses. He is preceded in death by his father.


David is survived by his wife, Brigette of Wilson; his daughters, Christlyn Jones and husband, Matt of Yorkville, GA; and Jessika Taylor of Wilson; his son, Colton Taylor of Wilson; his mother, Joyce Taylor of Wilson; his sister, Tawnya Taylor of Wilson; his brothers, Michael Taylor of Wilson and Rick Taylor of Anton; six grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and a host of young people whom he mentored over the years.


In lieu of flowers, the family suggest memorials be made to The School of Rock, 7802 Indiana, Lubbock, Tx. 79423.
