Doris LaRue Hudnall Bellah, 95, of West Texas, passed away on Friday, September 8, 2023.
Viewing will be 11:00 am – 6:00 pm, Friday, September 15, 2023, followed by a visitation from 6:00-7:00 p.m. at Englunds in Slaton. Funeral Services will be at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, September 16, 2023, at Englunds Chapel. Interment will follow at Englewood Cemetery in Slaton. Arrangements are under the direction of Englunds Funeral Service of Slaton.
Doris was born on May 3, 1928, in Brown City, Texas to Moman Demoss and Laverne Ann Bratton. She graduated from Burkburnett High School. She married John Hudnall, and they were married more than 50 years before his passing in 1999. She worked as a church secretary for Westview Baptist Church in Slaton, retiring after 25 years. She was a strong southern Christian woman who had such a strong faith. Doris loved to read and loved music and especially loved her dog Pepe. Giving love another try, Doris married Robert “Bob” Bellah at the age of 80. Sadly, he passed away 18 months after they were married. After spending most of her life in Texas, she moved to Pueblo, CO., in 2020.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, John Hudnall; her daughter, Mary Linda Bailey; her son, Jerry Hudnall; her sisters, Wanda Cunningham and Darlene Burton; her brother, James Bratton; and her second husband, Robert Bellah.
Doris is survived by her daughters, Cynthia Bailey of Shallowater and Anita Heuerman and her husband, Greg of Pueblo, CO.; her stepsons, Robert Bellah, Jr., Michael Bellah and Craig Bellah; and four grandchildren, Bo McCraw and his wife, Lauren, Ty McCraw, Latisha Hudnall and John Hudnall.
