Dorothy Mae Schniers, 93, of Slaton, passed away on Wednesday, October 8, 2025.

Visitation will be 5-6pm, on Sunday, October 12, 2025, at Englunds Chapel, followed by a Rosary Service at 6pm. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 am Monday, October 13, 2025, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Slaton. Interment will follow at Englewood Cemetery. 

Dorothy was born on October 10, 1931 in Slaton to Elenora and Anton Buxkemper, II. She grew up in Slaton and married C.B. (Charles) Schniers on August 10, 1954.  They lived in various places while he served in the U. S. Army from 1957-1962, and then they returned to Slaton. She loved cooking and canning. Dorothy was a member of St. Josheph Catholic Church and Catholic Daughters.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; her daughter, Karla Schniers; three sisters; and seven brothers. 

Dorothy is survived by her son, Craig Schniers and his wife, Angela of Slaton; her grandchildren, Taylor Schniers, Zachary Schniers, Gavin Schniers, Allen Schniers, Kaleb Steffens, Trevor Metcalf, Karlie Steffens, and Paisley Schniers; seven great-grandchildren; and her nieces and nephews.

The family suggest memorials be made to St. Joseph Catholic Church in Slaton.

The family and friends of Dorothy Mae wish to extend a humble and gracious gratitude to her niece, Doris Alspaugh, for the utmost care and love that she has given through the many years.
