Elbert Wayne Sartor Obituary

Elbert (Wayne) Sartor, 81, of Houston, passed away in Lubbock, TX on March 5, 2026.

A Memorial Service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday, March 25, 2026, at Englunds Chapel in Slaton. There will be no viewing or visitation. Arrangements are by Englunds Funeral Service of Slaton.

Wayne was born on June 8, 1944 in Lubbock to Stin Elbert and Ruby Lucille Sartor. He graduated from Lubbock High School in 1962. He was set up on a blind date by his future brother-in-law, Jimmy, with his sister Charoltte. They were married two years later in 1964 and shared a wonderful marriage of 61 years together. He worked for Southwestern Bell Telephone for nearly 30 years and wore many other hats such as home remodeler, volunteer fire fighter, coach, and gentleman farmer/rancher to name a few. But most of all he was a great dad, always available to the kids, helping them and teaching them throughout their lives.

Wayne loved the Lord Jesus Christ, and you could always find him working in his church.  He had a true servant’s heart and was always ready to meet a need. In his spare time, he loved reading western books, especially those by Louis L’Amour, and watching western movies. After retirement, he and Charlotte made many wonderful memories traveling around the US in their R.V.

He is preceded in death by his parents, his sister, Ruth Ann Weber, and his brothers, Ronald and Gordon Lee Sartor.

Wayne is survived by his wife, Charlotte Sartor of Lubbock; his son Todd Sartor and his wife, Marilyn of Houston; his daughters, Tonya Richardson and her husband, Cody of Adrian and Tina Lovering and her husband, Greg of Lubbock; and his grandchildren Kelsie Adams and her husband, Barret, Cody Scott Richardson, Katie Joe Richardson, Emily Frueh and her husband, Holden, Hailey Minneman and her husband, Grayson, and Jordan Lovering; and by his great grandchildren Mason, Myles, and Malcolm Adams.
