Eloy Salinas Obituary

Eloy Salinas, 83, of Acuff, passed away Saturday, November 14, 2020. 


Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 am Wednesday, November 18, 2020 at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, 1603 Cherry, in Lubbock. Interment will follow in Idalou Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Englunds Funeral Service of Slaton. Due to social distancing and seating on every other pew, seating is limited. Mask are required in the church and funeral home. 


Eloy was born January 1, 1937 in Escobares, TX to Horacio and Aurena Salinas. He married Celia Rosales on November 27, 1956. The moved to Lubbock, near Lorenzo, in 1961.  He was an award winning farmer and retired after 68 years. Eloy was a great father and grandfather. 


He is preceded in death by his parents; two daughters, Virginia Salinas and Lou Ann Hawkins; four brothers, Romero, Euladio, Oscar and Javier Salinas; and two sisters, Sylvia Mendez and Margarita Martinez. 


Eloy is survived by his wife; his sons, Erasmo and his wife, Linda, Romeo and his wife, Delma, Raul and his wife, Rachel, and Roel; his sisters, Rosalinda Ramos and Emelda Salinas; his brothers, Ruben, Horacio, Jr., and Mario Salinas; his sons-in-law, Karl Taylor and David Hawkins; 17 grandchildren; and  19 great-grandchildren.
