Emilio Camacho, 84, of Lubbock, passed away Tuesday, February 23, 2021.
Viewing will be 10:00 am -5:00 pm Friday, February 26, 2021 at Englunds in Slaton. Funeral Services will be at 10:00 am Saturday, February 27, 2021 at the Dream Center in Lubbock. Interment will follow at Englewood Cemetery in Slaton. Social distancing and mask are required at the funeral home and church. Arrangements are by Englunds Funeral Service of Slaton.
Emilio was born April 5, 1936 in Zacatecas, Mexico to Luis and Mariana Camacho. He came to the U.S. at age 19. He met and married Dora Alfaro on January 18, 1959 and recently celebrated 62 years of marriage. They moved to Lubbock in 1961. Emilio was a jack of all trades. He was a mechanic, welder, but primarily worked as a ginner at Posey Gin for 38 years. He loved the Dallas Cowboys, soccer, music and dancing. He was always working outside.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Avelina Bravo.
Emilio is survived by his wife, Dora of Lubbock; his daughters, Annabell Olavarrieta, Marlen Tarin and Marivel Alcantara all of Lubbock; his sister, Carmen Perez of Lyford; his nephew, Albert Alfaro and his wife Mary of Lubbock; his grandchildren, Amanda, Gabriel and Jose Tarin, Joshua, Paul and Nathaniel Olavarrieta, Vanessa Peralta and Cassandra Alcantara;19 great grandchildren and many loving nieces and nephews.
