Enrique Cisneros

Enrique “Rick” Cisneros, 63, of Lubbock, passed away at home Thursday, August 5, 2021.

Visitation will be at 1:00pm, Monday, August 9, 2021, at Englunds Funeral Chapel in Slaton, TX. Funeral Services to follow at 2:00 pm with interment at Englewood Cemetery in Slaton. Arrangements are by Englunds Funeral Service of Slaton.

Rick was born July 15, 1958 in Odessa, TX. He was crowned Slaton’s 1964 Tiny Tots King. He met Sylvia in Hobbs, NM, and she married the King in 1979. Together they moved to Lubbock and raised three children. They celebrated 41 years of marriage. He retired from the State of Texas in 2017. He was a long-time member of Southcrest Baptist Church. He loved his family and friends. He enjoyed playing card games, being outdoors, listening to music, dancing, and cutting wood for his fire pit. He was a green thumb and curated a backyard oasis where many memories were made. He was the family historian, always tying the past to the present. He was a great artist, poet, and craftsman. Rick was also a dedicated Dallas Cowboys fan, win or lose.

He will be remembered for his kindness, sense of humor, life advice, stories, laugh, smile, hugs, handshakes and pats on the back.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Isidoro Cisneros and Isabel Villa, and his sister, Dora Cisneros.

Enrique is survived by his wife, Sylvia; his daughters, Amanda and her husband, Alexander of Lubbock, Roxanne and her husband, Joseph of San Antonio; his son, Aaron Cisneros and his wife, Courtanie of Lubbock; his brothers, Ruben, Manny, and Martin; his grandchildren, Sierra, Gavin, Knox, and Savannah: and his pets, Charlie and Betty.
