Esperanza Rocha

Esperanza Rocha, 84, of Slaton, passed away Monday September 20,  2021.

Rosary will be said at 6:00 pm, Wednesday,  September 22, 2021 at Englunds Chapel in Slaton. Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 am, Thursday, September 23, 2021 at Our Lady Of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Slaton. Interment will follow at  Englewood Cemetery in Slaton. Arrangements are by Englunds Funeral Service.

Esperanza was born August 13, 1937 in San Matias, Coahuila, Mexico to Manuel and Sofia Zertuche.  She married Pedro Rocha on 4/29/1962 in San Antonio. They settled in Slaton to raise their two daughters. Esperanza was a member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, an active Guadalupana member, and a member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Cursillistas. She loved cooking for everyone and playing Loteria. Esperanza enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren and reading her bible. 

She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband; her son, Timothy Rocha; her brothers, Pedro and Mariano Zertuche; and her sister Delia Perez.

Esperanza is survived by her daughters, Martina Marie Hernandez of Slaton and Diana Moreno of Lubbock; her brothers Arturo Zertuche and his wife Blasa of Slaton and Jose Armando Zertuche and his wife, Olga of San Antonio; three granddaughters and two great granddaughters.
