Esperanza Hope Gallardo Obituary

Esperanza Hope Gallardo, 85, of Slaton, went to be with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, Wednesday, September 7, 2022.

Viewing will be 10:00 am to 6:00 pm Monday, September 12, 2022, followed by a Rosary at 6:00 pm at Englunds Chapel. Mass Services will be at 10:30 am Tuesday, September 13, 2022, at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Slaton. Interment will follow at Englewood Cemetery.  Arrangements are by Englunds Funeral Service of Slaton.  

Hope was born July 25, 1937 in Gonzales, TX to Anselmo and Ramona Garcia. She moved to Slaton with her family when she was 8 years old. Hope attended schools in Slaton. She married Frank April 4, 1953 in Slaton. Hope was a homemaker most of her life and later worked for fifteen years at Mercy Center in Slaton. She was a member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church and had a strong faith. Hope was a loving mother, grandmother and sister. Her giving heart touched so many lives. She always had time for everyone in need and always had a “little something” for her grandchildren. She leaves a legacy of love and an imprint on her family’s hearts to continue this life without her. She will be greatly missed and remembered always.

Carrying her to her resting place will be her children.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; her son, Isaac Gallardo; one sister and five brothers.

Hope is survived by her daughters, Janie Guzman and her husband, Lupe of Shallowater, Margaret Pena and her husband, Joe of Lubbock, Rachel Casias of Grand Prairie, Patsy Orosco and her husband, Chris of Lubbock and Becky Hinojosa and her husband, Henry of Waxahachie: her sons, Robert and his wife, Frances of Lubbock, Frank and his wife, Maria of Slaton, and Ramon and his wife, Lisa of Slaton; her sisters, Ruby Martinez and her husband, Thomas of Lubbock, Yolando Olivo of Georgetown and Isabel Olivo and her husband, Eluterio of Lima, Ohio: her brothers, Manuel Garcia and his wife, Lupe of Houston, Jessie Garcia of Slaton and Pio Garcia of Lubbock and several grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.
