Esther Aguirre Obituary

Esther Gonzales Aguirre entered into eternal paradise Tuesday, October 13, 2020 surrounded by her family at the age of 76.

Rosary will be said at 6:00 PM Thursday, October 15, 2020 at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Slaton. Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 AM Friday, October 16, 2020 at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Slaton.  Interment will follow in Englewood Cemetery in Slaton. Arrangements are under the direction of Englunds Funeral Service of Slaton. In support of her family’s health, face coverings are mandatory and social distancing required. Viewing will be for immediate family only.

Esther was born on January 13, 1944 to Pedro and Patricia Gonzales in Williamson County. She married the love of her life Dan H. Aguirre on May 11, 1959 in Slaton. She was a catechist and devout catholic at of Our Lady of Guadalupe Church for numerous years. Esther was known for her talents of cooking, baking, and caring for numerous children in Slaton. As a homemaker, many of her friends and relatives asked her to help care for and raise many children. She loved crossword puzzles and decorating her home for all the holidays. She instilled the values of God, family and respect for all whom she crossed paths with. 

She is preceded in death by her parents; her infant son, Jesus; her grandson, Michael Ybarra; and her sister Amelia Lievas.

Esther is survived by her husband, Dan; her daughters, Natalie Ybarra (Rick Jasso) of Slaton, Cecelia Villegas (Johnny) of New Deal, Mercy Aguirre of Slaton and Alyssa Aguirre of Lubbock; her sons, Anthony Aguirre (Belinda) of Lubbock, Raymond Aguirre of Slaton, Steve Aguirre (Lavon) of Pflugerville, and Zach Aguirre (Idalis Camargo) of Slaton; her brothers,  Cosme Gonzales ( Leticia) of Austin and Manuel Gonzales of Austin; eleven grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.  

Funeral Mass will be streamed live on Englunds Funeral Service and Chapel Facebook page.

The family would like to thank Legacy of Love Hospice and Cassy for their special care given to Esther.
