Eugenia Francis Respondek, 83, of Slaton, passed away on Friday, April 25, 2025. 

A Rosary Service will be held at 6:00 pm Wednesday, April 30, 2025 at Englunds Chapel.  Funeral Services will be at 10:30 am on Thursday, May 1, 2025 at Englunds Chapel. Interment will follow at Englewood Cemetery in Slaton. Arrangements are by Englunds Funeral Service of Slaton.

Euginia was born on March 29, 1942 in Slaton to Pete and Hermina Respondek. She graduated from Idalou High School and lived most of her life in Idalou, except for a few years starting in  1987, when she lived in Lubbock.  She moved back to Idalou in 2001.  She was a caregiver for her parents and has been a resident of Slaton Care Center for the last ten years.

Eugenia was an artist and a wine maker, and she loved gardening and fishing. She had a big heart for all animals, especially dogs. Eugenia also had a passion for photography.

She is preceded in death by her parents, and her infant sister, Diane Respondek.

Eugenia is survived by her brother, John Respondek of Idalou; her nieces, Marcelle Respondek, and Brenna Peralez and her husband, Joe, all of Idalou; and her nephews, Bart Respondek and his wife, Chaney, of Coppell, and Brent Respondek, of Lubbock.
