Fred M. Maldonado, Sr.

Fred M. Maldonado, Sr., 87, of Slaton, passed away Monday, July 27, 2020.

Funeral Services will be at 10:00 AM Friday, July 31, 2020 at Englunds Funeral Chapel in Slaton. Interment will follow in Englewood Cemetery in Slaton. Arrangements are under the direction of Englunds Funeral Service of Slaton. Due to social distancing and seating on every other pew, seating is extremely limited.  The service may be viewed on Englunds Funeral Service Facebook page.

Fred was born November 16, 1932 in Glen Flora, Texas to Pedro and Idolina Maldonado. He married Sara in Clovis, New Mexico on October 22, 1951. Fred worked for many years at Paymaster Oil Mill, Supreme Feeds, and Godbold Feed.  He worked for BNSF for 21 years as a machine operator, retiring in 1992.   Fred enjoyed watching football and buying scratch off lottery tickets

He is preceded in death by his parents; four brothers; and one sister. 

Fred is survived by his wife, Sara of Slaton; a daughter, Mary Allen and husband, Zeferino Sauceda of Slaton; a son, Freddy Maldonado Jr. and wife Yolanda of Houston; a sister, Shirley Luddy of Virginia Beach, Virginia; four grandchildren, Reagan Guel and husband Pete, Rebecca Arizpe and husband Jose, Ryan Allen, Laura Allen; and 10 great grandchildren.
