Fred Urtado Jr., 66, of Slaton, Texas, ended his battle with pancreatic cancer on December 26, 2022, in his home surrounded by his wife, children, and grandchildren.

Viewing will be 11:00 am-6:00 pm Thursday, December 29, 2022 at Englunds, followed by a Rosary Service at 6:00 pm. Mass will be celebrated 2:00 pm Friday, December 30, 2022, at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Slaton. Interment will follow at Englewood Cemetery.  Arrangements are by Englunds Funeral Service of Slaton.

Fred was born on August 12, 1956 in Lubbock, Texas to Fred Urtado Sr. and Louisa H. Hurtado. Fred met his wife, Patricia, in 1996 and married in July of 2003.
Fred worked at Featherlight for over 20 years as a forklift driver. He retired in 2020 to care for his health and family

He was preceded in death by his mother, Louisa & his brother, Alejandro Hurtado.

He is survived by his father, Fred Sr.; wife, Patricia; children, Joe Botello (Priscilla), Tina Martinez (Jodie), and Roland Zubia (Samantha); grandchildren; Isaiah, Josiah, Kaitlyn, Josiah M., Jordyn; and siblings, Tony Hurtado (Karen), Cecilia Garcia (Luis), Irma Yeager (Donn), Rita Garcia (David), David Hurtado (Gracie), Tom Hurtado (Jackie), Ernestine Hurtado, and Mona Bermudez (Antonio).
