Gladys Moore

Gladys Moore, 96, of Tahoka, formerly of Wilson, passed away on November 19, 2023, at Lynnwood Assisted Living Home.

Viewing will be 11:00 am-4:00 pm Wednesday, November 22, 2023, at Englunds. Funeral Services will be at 10:30 am Friday, November 24, 2023, at Englunds Chapel. Interment will follow at Green Memorial Park in Wilson. Arrangements are by Englunds Funeral Service of Slaton.

Gladys was born on February 2, 1927, in Grayson County to Marvin and Vera Taylor. She graduated from Wilson High School in 1945 and married Zollie Moore on February 27, 1948, in Clovis, NM. They resided in Wilson most of their married life. Gladys was a beautician before she married Zollie and also was a supervisor at the Wilson cafeteria for many years before retiring in 1993. Zollie was a farmer, so Gladys helped him for many years on the farm.

She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Zollie; her son, Lee Moore; her daughter, Connie Burton; her sisters, Doris Hughes and Lorine Reid; her half siblings, Freeman Smalley, Naomi Burkhalter, Johnny Smalley, Kennith Smalley, Bertie George, Bea Harrison, Stella Smalley, and Gary Smalley.

Gladys is survived by her son, Dennis Moore (April) of Wilson; son-in-law, Clif Burton of Midland; daughter-in-law, Karla Moore of Lubbock; her grandchildren, Autumn Racca (Derek), Dusty Moore (Ginger), Andy Moore (Celinda), Shasta Hughes (Wesley), Zach Burton, Lacey Irby; and 13 great-grandchildren.

The family would like to thank the staff at Lynnwood Assisted Living Home in Tahoka for the excellent care of Gladys for the last eight years.

 The family suggests memorials be made to Green Memorial Park Cemetery, PO Box 102, Wilson, Texas, 79381.
