Hector G. Cardenas, 74, of Rowlett, passed away Wednesday, July 27, 2022.


Hector was born February 28, 1948 in Nixon to Juan and Juanita Cardenas. He retired in 2019 after more the 40 years with Borden Milk.  He had a passion for race cars and especially his family.  He also enjoyed playing golf and watering the grass. His biggest joy was his grandchildren.


He is preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Joe Cardenas; his sisters, Consuelo Chavez and Ruth Rios; and his nephew, Steve Cardenas.


Hector is survived by his daughters, Melissa Nichols and her husband, John of Manila, Philippines, Tish Nelson and her husband, Craig of Rowlett, Jackie Rivera of Lubbock, Victoria Crisman and her husband, Fred of Haltom City, and Denise Hernandez of Lubbock; his son, Tommy Cardenas of Lubbock; his sisters, Connie Gutierrez of Lubbock and Linda Villalva of Seminole; his brothers, Ike Cardenas and his wife Irene of Beaumont and Emmett Cardenas and his wife, Minerva of Georgetown; his grandchildren, Jaslyn Rivera, Isaac Hernandez, Richard Soto, Carter Cardenas, Chase Nichols, Kaison Crisman, Bennett Nelson, Cameron Nichols, Elyse Nichols,and Matt Garcia; one great grandchild; and many nieces and nephews.
