James “David”  Woody, 80, of Slaton, passed away Saturday, May 18, 2024.

Viewing will be 11:00am-6:00pm Friday, May 24, 2024, followed by a Visitation from 6:00pm -8:00pm at Englunds in Slaton. Funeral Services will be at 10:00am Saturday, May 25, 2024 at Englunds Chapel in Slaton. Private Interment will follow. Arrangements are by Englunds Funeral Service of Slaton.

David was born September 3, 1943 in San Antonio to Elmer Willie and Reta Mae Wyckoff Woody. He lived in San Angelo from 1945-1961 and enjoyed camping and fishing almost every weekend. In 1961 his family moved to Slaton when his dad was transferred with BNSF Railways. David graduated from Slaton High school in 1962. After graduation David went to see a man about buying a horse and instead found a beautiful girl, Linda Isbell. David and Linda later married in Slaton in 1964. Linda preceded him in death on December 8, 2008 after 44 years of marriage.

He is survived by his sons, David and his wife, Judy of Slaton, Mike of Slaton, and Donald and his wife, Carrie of Lubbock; his grandchildren, Michael  of Seminole, Kyle and his wife, Brytnea of Chesapeake, Virginia, Lizzy of Seguin, Brian of Lubbock and Christopher of Lubbock; and his great grandchildren, Lathen, Jensyn, Kaylyn, Kole, Baylor, Rowynn, Atlee, Aryanne, Able, and Keilan.
