James "Jim" Herbert Adams

James “Jim” Herbert Adams, 62, of Lubbock, passed away on Sunday, October 15, 2023.

A Memorial Service will be at 2:00 pm Friday, October 20, 2023, at Englunds Chapel. Arrangements are by Englunds Funeral Service of Slaton.

Jim was born August 19, 1961, in Bryan to Herbert and Mary Adams. Jim joined the Lubbock Fire Department at an early age and rose to the rank of Captain very quickly. He owned Adams Heating and Air Conditioning and claimed they were “the coolest guys in town”. Jim married Jennifer Johnson on March 19, 1993, in Lubbock. He enjoyed the outdoors at his lake house and riding his motorcycle.  Most of all he loved The Lord and his family.

He is preceded in death by his parents; his son, Kelley Adams; and his brother, Bob Adams.

Jim is survived by his wife, Jennifer; his sons, Austin and Matthew Adams, both of Lubbock; his brothers, Rex Adams and his wife, Jeanne, of Keller, Greg Adams of Keller, and Terry Adams and his wife, Amelia of Ft. Worth; and his granddaughter, Emersyn Adams.
