Jeannette Bradford, 88, of Slaton, passed away in Plano, Wednesday, September 1, 2021.
Visitation will be at 5:00-6:30 pm, Friday, September 3, 2021 at Englunds. Funeral Services will be at 11:00 am, Saturday, September 4, 2021 at First Baptist Church in Slaton. Interment will follow in Englewood Cemetery in Slaton. Arrangements by Englunds Funeral Service of Slaton.
Jeannette was born August 23, 1933 in Crowell to Ammer LaFette and Madge Ruth Johnson. She started her career at Methodist Hospital Nursing School in 1953 and graduated in 1956. She married C. F. “Red” Bradford on August 17, 1956 in Margaret, Tx and began working at Mercy Hospital in Slaton and remained there until the day it closed in 1985. She then worked at Garza Memorial Hospital in Post, Texas for the next 12 years and retired in 1997. She was a member of First Baptist Church, Ladies Auxiliary of the UTU and the Athenians Study Club. She was active at the Senior Citizen Center and with Slaton Meals on Wheels. She was also a care giver for many families in the community and part of the kitchen committee at First Baptist.
She is preceded in death by her husband, C F “Red” Bradford; her parents; three sisters; and 2 brothers.
Jeannette is survived by her daughters, Sherrie Bouissey and her husband, Steven of San Angelo and Debbie Mino and her husband, Dennis of Plano; her son, Terry Bradford and his wife, Mary of Clovis, NM; her grandchildren, Colby Bradford and his wife, Anna, Jared Bradford and his wife, Allison, Breanna Ziegler and her husband, Will and Brooke Mino; and her great-grandchildren, Jason, Nola and Eddie Bradford.
