Jerry Farmer, 75, of Slaton, passed away Friday, February 12, 2021.
Viewing will be 12-2:00 pm Thursday, February 18, 2021 at Englunds. Graveside services will be at 2:00 pm Thursday, February 18, 2021 at Englewood Cemetery in Slaton. Arrangements are by Englunds Funeral Service of Slaton. Social Distancing and mask are required. The family plans to have a Memorial Service in May.
Jerry was born May 22, 1945 in Lamesa to Rev. J. W. and Angie Farmer. He married Mary Maule on June 26, 1977 in Las Vegas, NV. After living in Pampa, Elk City, OK and Idalou, they moved to Slaton in 2002. He worked as a fuel transport driver and retired from Tucker Oil Company in 2020. He loved his family and was a huge animal advocate.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and two brothers, Ron and Lowell Farmer.
Jerry is survived by his wife, Mary; his daughter, Tammy Oakes and her husband, Ray of Thomas, OK; his sons, Trevor Farmer and his wife, Laura of Slaton, Clif Farmer of Slaton, Jeremy Farmer and his wife, Sara of Roanoke, and Jason Farmer and his wife, Dane of Lubbock; his sisters, Trish Tidwell and her husband, Buddy of Lubbock and Sharon Metzger of Nashville, TN; and ten grandchildren.
The family suggest memorials be made to a local horse sanctuary or animal rescue of your choice.
