John Henry Biera

John Henry Biera, 74, of Slaton, passed away on March 19, 2026.

Viewing will begin at 1:00 pm on Sunday, March 22, 2026 at Englunds Chapel, followed by a Rosary Service at 6:00 pm. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 am on Monday, March 23, 2026 at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Slaton. Interment will follow at Englewood Cemetery in Slaton. Arrangements are by Englunds Funeral Service of Slaton.

John was born on July 20, 1951 in Slaton to Enrique and Josephine Biera. He attended Slaton schools and Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church.  He worked in the maintenance department at Covenant Hospital for many years. The family would like to thank the Garrison Care Center staff, Beyond Faith Hospice, Lino Martinez, John Torres and family for their care and dedication.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Margaret Biera, and one grandchild.

John is survived by his son, Jonathan Biera of Lubbock; his sisters, Diane Biera of Lubbock and Irma Biera of Slaton; his brother, Daniel Biera and his wife, Gloria of Lubbock; four grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
