Juan Maldonado

Juan Manuel Maldonado, 67, of Lubbock, passed away Friday, June 16, 2023.

Viewing will be 10:00am-6:00pm Wednesday, June 21, 2023, at Englunds Chapel followed by a Rosary Service at 6:00pm. Mass will be celebrated at 10:30am Thursday, June 22, 2023 at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Slaton. Interment will follow at Englewood Cemetery in Slaton. Arrangements are by Englunds Funeral Service in Slaton.

Juan was born on May 16, 1956 in Slaton to Geraldo and Antonia Maldonado. He retired after 25 years from Supreme Mill in Slaton.  Juan was a loving Dad, Grandpa, and friend. He was a diehard Dallas Cowboy fan and was the life of the party.  He loved listening to Tejano music and dancing.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his sister, Elida Guerrero; and his brothers, Rick and Butch Maldonado.

Juan is survived by his daughters, Yolanda Herrera and her husband, Chris, and Esmeralda Maldonado, all of Lubbock; his son, Juan Manuel Maldonado, Jr., and his wife Laura of Lubbock; his sisters, Gloria Cedillo and her husband, Lupe of Colorado, Emma Zuniga of Slaton, Maris Sierra of Slaton, and Christina Maldonado of Slaton; his brothers, Mike Maldonado and his wife, Janie of Slaton, and Raymond Maldonado of California; nineteen grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
