Juanita Rubio, 85, of Slaton, passed away Saturday, February 27, 2021.
Viewing will be 10:00-5:00 pm Thursday, March 4, 2021 at Englunds. Graveside services will be 11:00 am Friday, March 5, 2021 at Englewood Cemetery in Slaton. Social distancing and mask are required at the funeral home and cemetery. Arrangements are by Englunds Funeral Service of Slaton.
Juanita was born May 6, 1935 in Reedville to Nicolas and Virginia Torres. She moved to Slaton at the age of nine. She married Domingo Sr. on September 14, 1953. She worked for City Steam Laundry for 28 years until her retirement in 1989. Juanita was a member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Church in Slaton. She was a loving mother, grandmother and loved spending time with her sisters and being GG Ma.
She is preceded in death her parents; her husband; her sons, Angelo and Domingo Torres Jr; her brothers, Fred and Frank Torres and her sisters, Teresa Ybarra, Lucia Trevino, Angie Arrenivar, Mary Vidaurre and Antonia Adame.
Juanita is survived by her daughters, Isabel Maldonado of Slaton and Toni Guevara and husband Martin of Lubbock; her sons, Lorenzo and Richard Rubio both of Slaton; her daughter-in-law, Olga Rubio of Slaton; her sister, Alice Valdarez of Slaton; 15 grandchildren and 28 great-grandchildren.
