Julia Cruz

Julia Cruz, 89, of Lubbock, passed away Sunday, June 26, 2022. 

Viewing will be 11:00 am to 6:00 pm Tuesday, July 5, 2022 at Englunds. Rosary will follow at 6:00 pm at Englunds Chapel. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 am Wednesday, July 6, 2022 at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Slaton.  Interment will follow at Englewood Cemetery in Slaton. Arrangements are by Englunds Funeral Service.

Julia was born January 5, 1933 in Grimes county to Armando and Nacaria Dabila.  She married Eulogio “Shorty” Cruz June 6, 1949 in Lubbock. Julia worked in agriculture and enjoyed making tamales for her family and friends. She also enjoyed working in her garden and crocheting. Julia was a loving mother and grandmother.

She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, her sisters, Mario Rios and Lupe Dabila and her brother, Jessie Dabila. 

Julia is survived by her daughter, Angel Beigen and her husband, Robert of Slaton; her sons, Pete Cruz and his wife, Cindy of Lubbock, Pablo Cruz and his wife, Sandra of Lorenzo, Alex Cruz and his wife DeLena of Slaton, Jessie Cruz of Lubbock and Rene Cruz and his wife, Anna of Lubbock; her sisters, Angelita Diaz and her husband, Joe of Slaton and Juanita Garza of Lubbock; and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
