Julio Betancourt, 70, of Slaton,  passed away on November 9, 2024.

Viewing will be 11:00 am-6:00 pm, Wednesday, November 13, 2024, followed by a Rosary Service at 6:00 pm,  at Englunds Chapel.  Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 am, Thursday, November 14, 2024, at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Slaton. Interment will follow at Englewood Cemetery. Arrangements are by Englunds Funeral Service of Slaton.

Julio was born in Ricardo Flores Magon, Chihuahua, Mexico on August 16, 1954 to Julio and Margarita Betancourt. His family moved to Slaton in 1975 and he married Angelina on November 29, 1980. Julio worked for R.E. Janes Gravel Company for 21 years. He enjoyed sitting on his porch, watering his plants and garden, and going  on cruises with his grandson, Cheeto.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and his sisters, Antonia Gonzales and Manuela Betancourt.

Julio is survived by his wife, Angelina; his daughters, Rosa Masias and Marisa Clark and her husband, Brad; his sons, Julio Jr. and his wife, Melina and Robert and his wife, Elena; nine siblings; 13 grandchildren; and 4 great-grandchildren.
