Obituary
Keith Lane Zatopek, 68, died in Lubbock on June 30, 2023.
Graveside Services will be at 3:00 pm Saturday, July 22, 2023 at Green Memorial Park Cemetery in Wilson. Arrangements are by Englunds Funeral Service of Slaton.
Keith was born on March 1, 1955 in Houston to parents, Lydia (Lidy) Schneider Zatopek and Jerome Zatopek. Keith graduated from Sam Houston High School in 1974. After the death of his parents, he lived in Slaton for many years and enjoyed his time spent with his aunt, Mary Schneider Jones, and other relatives.
Keith was disabled his entire life, but his disability did not prevent him from remembering names, asking about his friends and relatives, and showing great kindness and empathy to others. He was an avid reader who stayed up-to-date on the news and world events. He loved the staff at Whisperwood Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Lubbock as his own family.
Keith's family would like to thank the beautiful people at Whisperwood for their many years of loving care. Keith felt safe and loved, and those are gifts that are immeasurable.
