Kenneth Polk, 73, of Slaton, passed away November 10, 2019.
Graveside services will be 10:00 am Saturday, November 16, 2019 in Englewood Cemetery in Slaton. Arrangements are under the direction Englunds Funeral Service of Slaton.
Kenneth was born February 25, 1946 in Houston to George and Hazel Beard Polk. He married Maudine Worthen on November 23, 1965 in Littlerock, AR and enjoyed 54 years of marriage. He worked as a carpenter most of his life and served as a reserve deputy sheriff in Grants, NM and as a volunteer fire chief in Prewitt NM. He also worked for a while in the oil fields and in ginning.
He loved fishing, going to JJ’s Café, and was an avid race car fan at Lubbock Speedway.
He is preceded in death by his parents; his daughter, Sandra Knutson; his sisters, Martha Anderson and Laquita Fudge; and his brothers, Robert, Glen, John and Troy Polk.
Kenneth is survived by his wife, Maudine; his daughter, Georgi Flach of Decatur, IL; his sons, Howard Polk and Nicki Gomes of DeLand, FL, Robert Polk and Tia Harris of Grants, NM and Ken Polk and wife, Rebecca of Herndon, VA; his sisters, Linda Snider, Emma Wright and husband Robert, Jonita Jatzla and husband, Bobby, and Selena Boring and husband, Rodger; his brothers, Larry Polk and Edith and Virgil Polk and Trish; and several grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
