Laverne Renfro, 91, of Slaton, passed away on Monday, July 29, 2024.

Viewing will be 11:00-6:00 pm Thursday, August 1, 2024, followed by a visitation from 6:00-7:00 pm at Englunds Chapel. Funeral Services will be at 10:00 am Friday, August 2, 2024, at Bible Baptist Church in Slaton.  Interment will follow at Englewood Cemetery in Slaton. Arrangements are by Englunds Funeral Service of Slaton.

Laverne was born on April 8, 1933, in Floyd Co. and was raised by Mammie in Lockney, where she attended school. On October 22, 1952, she married Billy Don Renfro in Lee County, New Mexico.  After living in various places in Texas, they settled in Slaton in 1973.  She worked for Cardiology Associates as the accounting manager and retired after 20 years.  During this time, she opened the H & R Block office in Slaton, which carried her through retirement. She recently closed shop after 30 years.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Alton and Mary Lou Seigler; her husband; her Mammie; and her grandson, Sean O. Leary.

Laverne is survived by her daughter, Gayla Leary and her husband, Bo of Tyler; her sons, Ricky Renfro of Lubbock and Jerry Renfro of Slaton; her brothers, Gary Seigler and his wife, Donna of Mineral Wells, and Richard Seigler and his wife, Shirley of El Frida, AZ; eleven grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.
