Chris was born January 24, 1940 in Snyder to Leonard Earl and Virgie May Morris. He is preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Donnie Morris and James Wesley Morris.

Chris is survived by his sons, Randy Cater and his wife, Rosa of Slaton. Sid Morris and Neil Morris; his sisters, Charolotte Nichols and her husband, Bill of Buchanan Dam, and Melba Neeley of Plainview; and his sister-in-law, Sandra Morris of New Deal.
